Individuation, Transference/Projection, Dreams, and Active Imagination. These four 'pillars' encompass a variety of Jungian concepts and practices, so, as well as working with dreams, we will also learn and practice active imagination, (including a form called 'Embodied Active Imagination’ and there would also be an opportunity to participate in, observe and learn the basic principles of Creative Arts, which is included under the broad heading of Active Imagination); we will also use different exercises to learn about our own transference/projections etc. In following this option for a year, you will have effectively completed a certificate in basic Jungian concepts.

The psychological process involved in the Path of Conscious Individuation is an internal referencing and communication with the unconscious. This involves learning to interpret and listen to the language of the psyche/soul, which is expressed in symbols. This course will focus on this symbolic language, how to interpret it and how to access it through dream work, symbol work, including symptom as symbol, and relating to it from the perspective of the ego. This course will introduce you to the key elements involved in symbolic work and teach you the skills and tools that you will need to engage and work with your own unconscious.

The course is open to all, regardless of previous experience with Jungian or psychodynamic theory. This is a comprehensive introduction to the key concepts in Applied Jungian Psychology. The main concepts will be approached and engaged with, using experiential, creative and reflective methods. The course is designed to facilitate the development of a more holistic perspective on yourself and the world around you. The focus is on individuation, meaning and consciousness.

*Please note, this course is not a qualification to practice, although it may be accepted as a preliminary to entering some professional trainings.
